Burnie A. Gilbert, 91, Greensburg, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2011 at the Arbor Grove Village in Greensburg.
Born, June 21, 1919 in Blossom, Texas, he was the son of James Monroe and Jennie Francis (Prevett) Gilbert.
He retired in 1985 from the Delta Faucet Co.
He was a member of the Church of Christ, the American Legion Post #129 and the Eagles Lodge.
He served in the Army during WW II in the military police.
He was married to Charlotte Broyles on August 22, 1953 and she survives.
He is also survived by one daughter, Lizabeth (Mark) Gauck, Batesville; two brothers, Floyd Gilbert, Oklahoma, James Gilbert, Oklahoma; one sister, Jean Leonard, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Daniel (Davilyn) Richey, Scott (Holly) Richey, Steven M. Powers; four great grandchildren; Zachary Richey, Daniel Richey, Jr., Hunter Richey, Payton Richey.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Paul, Silas and Ernest Gilbert; one sister, Opal Warden.
Visitation will be from 3-7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 18, 2011 at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg with Wayne Masters officiating.
Interment will be held in the South Park Cemetery in Greensburg, Indiana.
