Janet M. Dwenger

Janet M. "Gus" Dwenger, 66, Greensburg, passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at her residence after a yearlong battle with cancer. Born, March 16, 1945 in Greensburg, she was the daughter of Edwin J. and Nora Marie (Vogel) Burgmeier. She was married to Leonard J. Dwenger on October 24, 1964 and he preceded her in death on March 7, 2001. Janet and Leonard owned and operated the Dwenger Package Store for over 20 years. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church. She loved to walk, read, play dominos and visit with her many friends. She volunteered at Joan Greiwe's pre-school. She belonged to a monthly card club group. Friends will remember Gus always smiling and laughing. She is survived by one son, Todd (Linda) Dwenger, Greensburg; one daughter, Terrica (Bill) Moorman, Batesville; two sisters, Arlene Cook, Greensburg, Darlene (Bernard) Huff, Westport; four grandchildren, Jake Moorman, Jordan Moorman, Tyler Dwenger, Luke Dwenger. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Daniel and Donald Burgmeier. Visitation will be from 4-7:00 p.m. Friday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. A public rosary will be prayed at 3:30 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greensburg with Rev. John Meyer officiating.
