Margaret M. Veerkamp

Margaret M. Veerkamp, 92, of Greensburg, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at the Heritage House Nursing Home in Greensburg. Margaret was born on July 11, 1919 to Edward and Matilda (Morrison) Griffin in Decatur County. She was married to Lee Veerkamp on August 8, 1942 and he preceded her in death on February 22, 1990. Margaret received her real estate license, and then started and operated her own real estate company, Margaret Veerkamp Realty. She was a member of the Board of Realtors, the St. Anne’s Society, and the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Millhousen. She is survived by one son; Jerry (Sue) Veerkamp, Greensburg, three daughters; Joan (Jerry) Mullis, Columbus, IN, Carol (Duane) McKinley, Greensburg, Roberta (Phillip) Cruser, Westport, 4 grandchildren; Brett Cruser, Tracy Ault, David Veerkamp, Sherrie Lucas, and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Family and friends may call from 5 - 8 p.m. on Friday, October 14, 2011 at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. A rosary service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Friday prior to visitation. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Interment will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery.
