Carl W. Wenning, 91, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at his residence in Osgood, Indiana.
Born, June 16, 1920 in Clarksburg, Indiana, he was the son of Charles L. and Mary R. (Oliger) Wenning.
Carl entered into active duty in the Army in 1942 and served his country during WWII for three years until he was honorably discharged in 1945.
He was married to Ruth C. Brancamp on October 12, 1946 in Millhousen, Indiana and she survives.
He was a member of the St. John's Catholic Church in Osgood and the V.F.W. in Napoleon.
Carl is survived by his wife, one son; Frank C. Wenning, Osgood, two daughters; Rosalie J. Calhoun, Osgood, Susan C. (Mike) Youngman, Madison, IN, two brothers; Leo (Mary) Wenning, Tempe, AZ., Louis Wenning, Franklin, IN, two sisters; Rose Ann Sturgis, Davenport, IA, Marjorie (Paul) Herbert, Millhousen, IN, two sisters-in-law; Lucille Wenning, Greensburg, Theresa Wenning, Greensburg, 7 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Robert and Donald Wenning, three sisters; Marie Kesterman, Vera Walters, Betty Vandenbosch, and one great grandson; Justin Ricke.
Visitation will be from 2-5:00 p.m. Sunday, November 6, 2011 at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg with a rosary service at 1:30 p.m. prior to visitation.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 7, 2011 at the St. John's Catholic Church in Osgood, In. with Rev. Shaun Whittington and Rev. Francis Eckstein officiating.
Interment will be held in the St. Maurice Catholic Cemetery in Napoleon, In.
