Gertrude E. Riedeman

Gertrude E. Riedeman, 92, of Greensburg, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Morning Breeze Nursing Home in Greensburg. Born on January 5, 1919, Gertrude was one of nine children born into the family of the late Jacob and Elizabeth (Nunlist) Werner. She married Omer A. Riedeman on April 14, 1945. They moved to Greensburg in 1949 and settled in to the farming community. She was a long time member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic minister. She was also a member of the St. Lawrence Ladies Auxiliary. Throughout her life, Gertrude was dedicated to her family and her church. She was strong in her faith, and generous by nature. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Those left to honor her memory include six sons and four daughters; Dale Riedeman, David (Judy) Riedeman, Robert (Darlene) Riedeman, Roseanne (Dennis) Noah, Sr. M. Sefapano, M.C. of Rome, Italy, Paul (Jae Lynne) Riedeman, Carl Riedeman, Joyce (Dennis) Holtkamp, Julie (Brad) Reed, and Omer “Butch” (Joan) Riedeman, all of Greensburg, two sisters; Henrietta Stein of Oldenburg, Rita Kramer of Greensburg, twenty-six grandchildren; Dana Riedeman, Jessica Riedeman, Michelle Riedeman, Michael Riedeman, John Riedeman, Jennifer Musall, Beth Riedeman, Anna Riedeman, Scott Riedeman, Amy Morrow, Greg Riedeman, Jason Noah, Angie Chaplin, Allison Woods, Sara Riedeman, Gabe Riedeman, Brooke Riedeman, Lisa Kreuzman, Adam Holtkamp, Stuart Reed, Kevin Reed, Mack Reed, Mitch Reed, Megan Riedeman, Rachel Riedeman, and Maria Riedeman, thirteen great-grandchildren; Rosamond and Charlotte Riedeman, August Musall, Jordyn and Kaitlyn Luken, Joseph Morrow, Lani and Mallori Noah, Kirin, Amber and Michael Chaplin, Henry Woods, and Adyline Kreuzman. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Omer, son; Dennis, brothers; Mathias, Leo, Joseph, and Henry Werner, and sisters; Sr. Rita Agnes of Sisters of St. Francis, and Elenora Kramer. Family and friends may call from 2 – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 4, 2011 at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. A rosary service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday prior to visitation. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 5, 2011 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg with Rev. John Meyer officiating. Interment will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or to St. Mary’s School Fund.
