Thomas A. Duffey

Thomas A. Duffey, 86, Greensburg, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in Greensburg. Born, January 4, 1925 in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was the son of Alfred J. and Jenny (Hester) Duffey. Thomas graduated from Greensburg High School. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the Eagles all in Greensburg. Thomas lived and worked on a farm most of his life. He was also an avid Cincinnati Reds fan. He is survived by one sister; Mary Jean (Ray) Beagle, Greensburg, two nephews; Rick (Sherry) Beagle, Greensburg, Chris (Suzanne) Beagle, Greensburg, two nieces; Karen (Rick) Meyer, Greensburg, Kathy (Mark) Porter, Greensburg, and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. A rosary service will be held at 10:30 a.m. following the visitation. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg with Rev. John Geis officiating. Interment will be held in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Greensburg. Memorials may be made to the St. Mary’s Building Fund or Decatur County Hospice.
