John W. Best

John W. Best, 76, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the Methodist Hospital in the Indianapolis. Born, September 11, 1935 in Greensburg, he was the son of Otho T. Best and Mary Alice (Clark) Bockover. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corp serving 20 years in active duty and 10 years in reserves. He was a past post commander at the American Legion in Greensburg. He is survived by two sons, Steven Dale (Cindy) Best, Waldron, John O. Best, Greensburg; one daughter, Roxanna (Timothy) Hamilton, Greensburg; one brother, Sheldon Best, Greensburg; one sister, Letha Ryle, Greensburg; four grandchildren, Nathaniel Best, Josh Best, Jessica Best, and Abigail Hamilton. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Melvin Best; three sisters, Linda Cline, Marjorie Best and Cecilia Best. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. Memorials may be made to the family through the funeral home.
