Carolyn L. Herbert

Carolyn L. Herbert, 72, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2012 at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in Greensburg. Born, March 5, 1940 in Greensburg, Indiana, she was the daughter of Harold Forest Rodgers and Goldie (Glenn) Rodgers. Carolyn had worked for over 20 years at KB Specialty Foods in Greensburg, and she also worked for 10 years at the Garrett Garment Company in Greensburg. Carolyn was married to James W. Herbert on February 15, 1958 and he preceded her in death on February 22, 1999. She is survived by one son; James W. Herbert, Jr., Millhousen, one sister; Jean Preston, Greensburg, 3 sisters-in-law; Ruth Rodgers, Greensburg, Eleanor Rodgers, Greensburg, Anna Mae (Gene) Powers, Columbus, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers; Harold Francis Rodgers, Arnold Lee Rodgers, Charles S. Rodgers, 2 sisters; Lula Pearl Bryant (and husband Floyd), Betty Jane Barber, and one brother-in-law; Jake Preston. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Thursday, March 29, 2012 at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Preston officiating. Interment will be held in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Millhousen. Memorials may be made to the family.
