Robert L. Mccarty

Robert L. McCarty, 84, Jupiter, Florida, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2012 at the Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Born, December 29, 1927 in French Lick, Indiana, he was the son of Willie and Ada Marie (Elrod) McCarty. Robert was a former chief of police for the Greensburg Police Department. In 1972, he moved to Florida and worked for Wilbur and Dixie Plumbing until his retirement. He was married to Jean Ross on March 19, 1948 and she survives. He is also survived by one son, Robert Eugene McCarty, Jupiter; one sister, Judith Ann Oaldon, Plainfield; one grandson, Robert Howard McCarty, Jupiter; one nephew, Jeffrey O'Mara, Manilla. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, William K. McCarty; one sister, Josephine Conaway. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 14, 2012 at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Greensburg. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 14, 2012 at the funeral home with Rev. Mike O'Mara officiating. Interment will be held in the South Park Cemetery in Greensburg, Indiana.
