Harry R. “Dick” Garrett, 89, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at the Heritage House Nursing Home in Greensburg.
Born, February 15, 1923 in St. Paul, Indiana, he was the son of Oscar and Bertha (Burr) Garrett.
He joined the United States Army in 1943 and served his country for three years during WWII.
Dick married Helen L. Moore on September 9, 1943, and she preceded him in death on December 11, 2008.
Dick worked for C.H. Johnston Co. in Greensburg, and he also worked maintenance at Sky Bird Apartments in Greensburg. He was a member of the American Legion Post 129 in Greensburg.
He is survived by one son-in-law; Larry Godby, Greensburg, and one grandson; Rick (Shirley) Godby, Adams, In.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter; Sharon Godby, and grandson; Jay Godby.
There will be no public visitation.
Private graveside services will be held at Hebron Cemetery in Adams, Indiana.
