Ruth V. Stephens

Ruth V. Stephens, 90, Greensburg, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at the Arbor Grove Village in Greensburg. Born February 7, 1922 in Oregon, Illinois, she was the daughter of Milford and Beulah (Pettenger) Hawkins. She was a member of the United Church Christ in Osgood and the VFW Auxiliary in Napoleon. She was married to Alvin E. Stephens on April 17, 1983 and he preceded her in death on December 28, 2004. She is survived by one son, Richard Hogue, Eagle, Idaho; three daughters, Sonia VanArsdall, Greensburg, Sandra Chandler, Indianapolis, Annette Mears, Myrtle Beach, SC; one sister, Celeste Mae Hogue, Prescott, AZ; seven grandchildren; twenty seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Visitation will be from 9-11:00 a.m. Friday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Greensburg. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 6, 2012 at the funeral home with Rev. Keith Dover officiating. Interment will be held in the Lewis Creek Baptist Cemetery in Shelby County.
