Ralph Edward Joseph Nobbe, 82, passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Decatur County Memorial Hospital. Born, March 19, 1930 in Hamburg, Indiana, he was the son Joseph and Frances (Cord) Nobbe. Ralph joined the United States Air Force and served in the Koren Conflict. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion Post 129 in Greensburg. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Kights of Columbus in Greensburg, the Greensburg Adult Center, and the GMP Workers Union in Shelbyville. He formerly worked for Nobbe Oil Company in Batesville, he managed Pure Oil Company in Greensburg, and from 1965-1992, he was employed with Knauf Fiberglass in Shelbyville. Ralph married Dorothy Helen Vetter and she preceded him in death on December 23, 1996. He then was married to Rosemary (Lamping) Brancamp on October 30, 1999 and she preceded him in death on January 21, 2009. Ralph is survived by three sons; Kenneth J. (Tonya) Nobbe, Greensburg, Jerome R. (Melanie) Nobbe, Greensburg, Theadore A. Nobbe, Georgia, one daughter; Denise D. Zeigler, Greensburg, one step-son; Thomas (Jonita) Brancamp, Westport, three step-daughters; June (Ed) Johannigman, Osgood, Janet (Jody) Shera, Westport, Joyce (Neal) Roahrig, Lebanon, IN, one brother; Elmer J. Nobbe, Greensburg, two sisters; Rosemary (Hugh) Denning, Denver, CO, Bernadine (Don) VanGeison, Battle Creek, MI, 14 grandchildren; Heather Nobbe, Ashley (Steve) Kellett, Danielle Follette, Desirae (Michael) Moore, Gabriel Nobbe (fiancee’ Jaclyn Miller), Emily (Peter) Nelson, Eric (Rachel Hawkins) Zeigler, Corey Zeigler, Cara Zeigler, Alicia Nobbe, Katheryn Nobbe, Dylan Nobbe, Morgan Nobbe, Ethan Nobbe, and 2 great grandchildren; Chayla Cox and Jessie Follette. He was preceded in death by his parents, spouses, one son; Michael L. Nobbe, 5 brothers; Roman, Leo, Lawrence, Clement, and Clarence Nobbe, and one sister; Philomena Bogemann. Visitation will be from 1-5:00 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2012 at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg with a rosary service at 12:30 p.m. prior to visitation. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 30, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg with Rev. Scott Nobbe officiating. Interment and military rites will be held in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Greensburg. Memorials may be made to the Greensburg Animal Shelter or the Greensburg Adult Center.
