Lillian Marie Murphy

Lillian “Marie” Murphy, 93, entered Heaven on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Columbus Hospice Inpatient Facility. Born, July 4, 1919 in Greensburg, she was the daughter of Clyde “Turk” and Hallie K. (Haley) Bruner. She married Melvin L. Murphy on May 1, 1937 and he preceded her in death on August 13, 2005. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the V.F.W Ladies Auxiliary. Marie was a homemaker, wife, and mother. She is survived by two sons; Larry M. (Rhonda) Murphy, Greensburg, Michael M. (Kathy Shafer) Murphy, Avon, IN, one sister; Marlene (William) McCarter, Greensburg, 3 grandchildren; Scott Murphy,West Lafayette, IN, Christi Murphy, Avon, IN, Laramy (Mary) Murphy, Greensburg, 2 great grandsons; Garret and Garner Murphy, West Lafayette, IN, 2 step great granddaughters; Kadie and Macie Hampton, Greensburg, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son; Danny Murphy, 4 sisters; Libby Hess, Jean Farlow, Connie Hall, Martha Charles, and 2 brothers; Jimmy and Russell Bruner. Visitation will be from 1-3:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home with Rev. David Thompson officiating. Interment will be held in the South Park Cemetery in Greensburg. Memorials may be made to Hospice.
