Gary F. Wolter, 53, passed away Friday, September 28, 2012 in Decatur County.
Born, February 3, 1959 in Greensburg, Indiana, he was the son of Leo and Marie (Blankman) Wolter.
Gary graduated from Greensburg High School in 1977 and then attended Purdue University. He was a member of the St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus at St. Vincent De Paul, the St. Vincent Choir, and the Indiana Polled Hereford Cattle Association. He was a former board member of the Decatur County Farm Bureau, former Knights of St. John member and was a past president of the Parish Council at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greensburg. Gary loved raising Polled Hereford cattle.
He was the nighttime support manager at the Wal-Mart in Rushville.
He was married to Karen Schofner on December 1, 1979 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Shelbyville and she survives.
He is also survived by his parents; one son, Kurt Wolter, Lafayette; one daughter, Kayanna Wolter, Greensburg; two brothers, Norm (Nancy) Wolter, Greensburg, Mark (Sandi) Wolter, Greensburg; three sisters, Linda (Brian) Meek, Naperville, Il, Nancy (Chris) Moore, Chicago, Il., Karen Mirick, Greensburg.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2012 at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. A rosary for family and friends will be prayed at 3:30 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at the St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Shelby County, Indiana.
Interment will be held in the St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Cemetery in Shelby County, Indiana.
Memorials may be made to the GCHS Class of 1977 scholarship fund, St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church or Riley Children's Hospital.
