Dorothy F. Witkemper, 94, passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at the Heritage House Nursing Home in Greensburg.
Born, July 1, 1918 in Decatur County, she was the daughter of Bernard and Clara (Hardebeck) Blankman.
Dorothy was married to Stanley J. Witkemper on July 1, 1941 and he preceded her in death on June 19, 1978.
She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Millhousen. She was also a member of the NCCW at Immaculate Conception.
Dorothy had a great love for music, and she enjoyed playing the piano and guitar for her family and friends.
She is survived by two sons; John B. ( Joan) Witkemper, Shelbyville, Jim S. (Patti) Witkemper, Westport, two daughters; Doris A. (Max) Johnson, Greensburg, Mary J. (Vince) Smith, Greensburg, one brother; James J. (Ruth) Blankman, Greensburg, two sisters; Rosemary Schroeder, Van Wert, OH, Rita Mae Waechter, Muncie, IN, 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter; Marilyn H. Witkemper, 5 brothers; Paul, Cyril, Alvin, Orville, and Francis Blankman, 2 sisters; Mildred Moeller, Laura C. Gentry, and three stillborn sisters.
A Rosary Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 19, 2012 at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg with Visitation following until 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Millhousen with Rev. John Geis officiating.
Interment will be held in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in Millhousen.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the St. Mary’s Building Fund.
