Ralph E. Muckerheide,73, of Greensburg, passed away Friday, January 18, 2013 at the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.
He was born in Rush County, In. on July 7, 1939, the son of Albert L. and Hilda M. (Obermeyer) Muckerheide.
He was a farmer and a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church. He graduated from Sandusky High School in 1957. Ralph was dedicated to his family, church and his love of farming and the land.
He was married to Martha L. Smith on August 5, 1967 and she survives.
He is also survived by one son, Scott (Mary Ann) Muckerheide, Bloomington, In.; one daughter, Michelle (Mike) Gable, Corydon, In; three brothers, Robert (Donna) Muckerheide, Milroy, Dale E. (Debbie) Muckerheide, Greensburg, James (Kay) Muckerheide, Greensburg; two sisters, Carol Hahn, Greensburg, Marilyn (Ron) Land, Rushville; four grandchildren, Matthew S. Muckerheide, Thomas R. Muckerheide, Seth M. Muckerheide, Logan S. Gable; two aunts, Alma Obermeyer, Rosaline Muckerheide; seven nieces and thirteen nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law, Ernie Hahn.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg.
A rosary for family and friends will be prayed at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greensburg with Rev. John Meyer officiating.
Interment will be held in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the St. Mary's Church Building Fund or to the American Heart Association.
