Jerry E. Veerkamp, 63, passed away on January 22, 2013 at his residence in Greensburg.
He was born in Greensburg on November 9, 1949 to Lee and Margaret (Griffin) Veerkamp.
Jerry graduated from Sandcreek High School in 1967. He served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Millhousen, and the Conservation Club in Greensburg. Jerry was an avid outdoorsman and loved deer hunting and fishing. He loved his family and his grandchildren were his pride and joy.
Jerry was married to Sue Blake on July 18, 1984 and she survives.
Other survivors include; two sons, David (Misty) Veerkamp, Osgood, Randy Holt, Greensburg, two daughters, Sherrie Veerkamp, North Vernon, Kendra Holt, Greensburg, three sisters, Joan (Jerry) Mullis, Columbus, Roberta (Phillip) Cruser, Westport, Carol (Duane) McKinley, Greensburg, and 7 grandchildren, Ashlee Veerkamp, Emalee Veerkamp, Lexi Herrmann, Brandon Holt, Chelsie Sharp, Megan Lucas, and Kayla Ramsey.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home on Thursday, January 24, 2013 from 4-8 p.m with a Rosary Service at 3:30 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Millhousen on Friday, January 25, 2013 at 10:30 a.m.
Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in Millhousen.
