Ralph E. Land, loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away on July 24, 2013 at the Decatur County Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born, July 23, 1931 in Greensburg, the son of Henry and Dorothy (Lee) Land.
Ralph was retired from the Montgomery Ward Co. in Middletown, Ohio where he was the shipping and receiving manager. He also had worked for 27 years with the City of Greensburg Street Department, the last 24 years as Street Commissioner, retiring in 2008.
He was a member of the Eagles Lodge and the Sons of the American Legion.
He was married to Luella M. Buell on June 24, 1950 and she preceded him in death on March 3, 2009.
He is survived by one son, Charles "Chuck" Land, Greensburg; one daughter, Terri Graue, Kentucky; two brothers, Larry Land, Greensburg, Henry Land, Greensburg; three sisters, Patty Lee, Greensburg, Betty Austin, Greensburg, Dottie Ray, Ohio; four grandchildren, Candi Land, Chad Land, Melissa Clark, Stephanie Burrell; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; three brothers, Walter Land, William Land, George Land; one granddaughter, Michelle Birch.
Visitation will be from 1-5:00 p.m. Sunday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 29, 2013 at the funeral home with Pastor Jon Porter officiating.
Interment will be held in the South Park Cemetery in Greensburg, Indiana.
