Barbara J. Manus

Barbara J. Manus, 82, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Morning Breeze Nursing Home.  Barbara was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on May 17, 1932 to Samuel and Margaret (Short) Reichart.  Barbara graduated from Greensburg High School in 1950.  She then married Frank P. Manus on June 17, 1950 and he survives.  She worked at Gannon’s Jewelry, the Greensburg Daily News, and Capital Finance before beginning her 42 year career at Bohn Aluminum and Brass Corporation, the predecessor to ML-KS.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Psi Iota Xi Sorority.  She was on the Parks and Recreation Board, the Adult Center board, where she was also past president, and the building advisory board for the Adult Center.  Barbara loved the bowling trips to Louisville and also loved to play golf.  Barbara is survived by her husband, Frank, one son; Dan (Denise) Manus, Greensburg, one daughter; Dianna K. (Drew) Graham, Greensburg, five grandchildren, Stacie (Chris) Martin, Tricia (Chris) Stephens, Holly (Brandon) Upchurch, Katie (Robin) Ross, Michael Manus (fiancé, Brittany Lecher), and 5 great grandchildren; Loren and Grace Martin, Kole and Owen Stephens, and Ellison Ross.  She was preceded in death by her parents; Samuel Reichart, Margaret Reichart Tremain, and John Tremain.  Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, September 12, 2014 at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg with a rosary being prayed at 3:30 p.m.  A Funeral Mass will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, September 13, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. John Meyer officiating.  Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the St. Mary’s Church Building Fund or the Animal Rescue Foundation,” PAIN”.
