Dr. Donald E. Oljace, 84, Greensburg, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Morning Breeze in Greensburg.
Born, July 11, 1930 in Gary, Indiana, he was the son of Barney and Elizabeth (Christenson) Oljace.
Donald was a 1948 graduate of Gary Emerson High School. He received his Bachelor degree in chemistry from Indiana University in 1953 and then received his doctorate degree in Dentistry from Indiana University in 1960.
He was a first lieutenant in the chemical corps of the Army serving from 1955-1963.
Don joined the Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite in 1980. He was a member of the Scottish Rite Orchestra from 1976-2012. He was Concert Master from 2003-2012.
He attended the First Baptist Church and had been a member of the Greensburg Country Club where he enjoyed golfing with his friends.
He was first married to Margaret Longan on September 7, 1953 and she preceded him in death on March 15, 1984. He then married Jean (Harrison) McClure on February 14, 1986 and she survives.
He is also survived by one son, John (Rosita) Oljace, Philippines; three daughters, Kathy Miller, Greensburg, Jenny (Chris) Frederickson, Bloomington, Kim (Chris) Yentes, Fairland; one step son, Jeff (Judy) McClure, Greensburg; two step daughters, Christy (Kip) Hull, Greensburg, Janice Ryle (Fiancé) Derek Cornn, Greensburg; grandchildren, Mike Cooper, Darrell Cooper, Alex Morrow, Alena Oljace, Cami (Paul) Touloukian, Kasie Cloud, Brett Frederickson, Jake Frederickson, Blake Yentes, Trent Yentes; step grandchildren, Yllzer Pangan, Ybrick Pangan, Yin James Pangan, Jessica McClure, Tim McClure, Kyra Hull, Lizzie Hull, Dillon Ryle, Lexi Ryle; Great Grandchildren, Madison New, Phoenix Morrow.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife; two brothers, Edward and Richard Oljace.
Visitation will be from 9-11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at the funeral home with Rev. David Thompson officiating.
Private interment for the family will be held in the South Park Cemetery in Greensburg, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Scottish Rite Orchestra or to the First Baptist Church.
