Velma I. Fry, 88, of Greensburg, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Decatur County Memorial Hospital. Velma was born in Decatur County on February 7, 1926 to Edgar and Telitha (Krone) Meyer. Velma graduated from New Point High School in 1944. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Millhousen, the V.F.W. Auxiliary in Napoleon, and a former member of the St. Ann’s Ladies in Millhousen. Velma was a homemaker. She was married to Robert E. Fry on April 22, 1948 and he preceded her in death on November 27, 1989. Velma is survived by two sons; Kenneth (Janice) Fry, Napoleon, Donald (Jeanne) Fry, Greensburg, daughter-in-law; Mary Ann Fry, Greensburg, two sisters; Wanda Meyer, St. Genevieve, MO, Carol (Arthur) Young, Greensburg, 6 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother; Norman Meyer, sister; Linda Meyer, and son; Wayne Fry. A Rosary service will start at 3:30 pm on Monday followed by visitation from 4 – 8 pm at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. Visitation will also be from 9:30 – 10 am on Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Millhousen followed by a funeral mass at 10 am with Rev. Bill Turner officiating. Interment will follow at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in Millhousen. Memorials can be made to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or to the Millhousen Fire Department.
