Notrie O. McClure, Jr., 85 of Greensburg, passed away Friday, February 6, 2015 at Decatur County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg. He was born on April 27, 1929 in Shelby County, the son of Notrie O. McClure, Sr. and Eva L. (Tennell) McClure. Notrie attended Waldron High School before joining the US Army, serving in WWII. He worked as a farmer his whole life. He also had an artificial insemination breeding route that he ran locally, and he worked for KB Foods for 20 years. One of Notrie’s favorite hobbies was restoring old tractors, especially John Deere. He also loved horse racing and fishing. He was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Greensburg. Notrie was married to Mary A. Jones in Waldron on December 10, 1950 and she survives. He is also survived by one son; Darrell (Jill) McClure, Greensburg, five daughters; Notrianna (Don) Storie, Greensburg, Julia Johnson, Greensburg, Denise (Ronald) Collins, Greensburg, Cindy (Rick) Bevington, Greensburg, Eva (Ralph) Bellorado, Valparaiso, IN, two brothers; Dan McClure, Shelbyville, Tom McClure, Shelbyville, four sisters; Janice Wilbur, North Vernon, Alice Mann, Texas, Lou Holtzhausen, Shelbyville, Jean Smothers, Shelbyville, 11 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Bud and Michael McClure, and sister; Jane Hadley. Visitation will be from 1-5 pm on Sunday at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 9, 2015 at 11:00 am at the 1st Baptist Church in Greensburg with Rev. David Thompson officiating. Interment and military graveside rites will follow at Rossburg Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Hospice or to the Leukemia Foundation.
