Helen L. Harmon

Helen L. Harmon, 94, Greensburg, died Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Arbor Grove Village in Greensburg.  Born January 17, 1921 in Batesville, Indiana, she graduated from Batesville High School in 1939. She worked in a defense plant during World War II. She had also worked at Stewart’s Dress Shop in Batesville and Lerman’s Clothing Store in Greensburg. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg.  Helen was married to William M. Harmon on November 6, 1946, in Covington, Kentucky, and he preceded her in death on September 24, 2003. They were the parents of six children; Patricia Harmon (deceased), Michael (Karen) Harmon, Cary, NC, Dennis (Linda) Harmon, Greensburg, Nicholas (Monica) Harmon, Collegeville, PA, Willa (Robert) King, Greensburg, and Rebecca (Ronald) Morton, Greensburg. She and her husband were also the grandparents and great grandparents of several children and many nieces and nephews.  Visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Wednesday at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 10:00 am at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home with Rev. John Meyer officiating.  Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.  Mass services for Helen and/or deceased members of the Harmon family may be made through the funeral home in lieu of flowers.
