Robert E. Halfaker, 99, Greensburg, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2015 at his residence. He was born September 9, 1915 in Pittsboro, Indiana. Robert was retired from the Prudential Ins. Co. and lived the greater part of his life in Indianapolis. In 2000, he joined his daughter, Brenda and her husband in retirement at Lake Santee in Greensburg, where he enjoyed fishing and making stained glass. He was a lifelong member of Masonic Lodge #720, and a member of the Artists Guild of Indianapolis. He is survived by three daughters; Marquita Halfaker, Karen R (Johnnie) Christian, and Brenda K. (Bill) McVay, brother; Richard (Carla) Halfaker, four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, four step sons and their families. He was preceded in death by his sisters; Alice Bartlett and Doris Cooper, wife; Katherine Plunkett Halfaker and wife; Una Thomas Halfaker. Visitation will be from 9 am – 12 pm on Thursday at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. A private graveside service and interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in North Salem, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Clarksburg Volunteer Fire Department.
