Robert Lee Brown, 81, Greensburg, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2015 at the Heritage House in Greensburg. Bob was born in Greensburg on November 16, 1933, the second son of Russell & Edith (Ryon) Brown. He was named Robert Lee by a special aunt, Mary Rybolt. He attended school in Greensburg and graduated from Jerman High School in the class of 1951. Bob enlisted in the US Air Force in 1954 and served in Japan & Korea as a communication specialist. The Brown family attended the First Baptist Church and Bob and Maxine Blodgett were married there and three children were born to that union, Leslie, Sonja, and Russell. Bob was a professional truck driver and also had driven for the Grey Hound Bus Lines. In 1981, he went to work for Westerfeld Trucking and in 1982 he and Sharon Westerfeld were married. Bob suffered from Alzheimer's disease and in 2011, Sharon needed more help with his care, so Bob moved to the Heritage House until his death. He was loved by the staff and respected by the other residents. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Sharon and her children, Teresa (Barry) Eineman and Robert (Bev) Westerfeld II, and grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James and Stanley (Niven) Brown; daughter, Leslie. Visitation will be from 9-11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at the funeral home with Rev. John Kost officiating. Interment with full military services will be held in the South Park Cemetery in Greensburg, Indiana. Serving as pallbearers are John Gunter, Chris Meyer, Steve Hart, Chris Westerfeld, Robert Westerfeld III, Dustin Westerfeld, Joe McFarland and Scott Eineman. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Southeastern Indiana or the Activities Center at the Heritage House Nursing Home.
