Edward A. O'Mara

Edward A. O'Mara, 79, Greensburg, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2015 at the Decatur County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg.  Born, March 24, 1936 in Greensburg, Indiana, he was the son of Joseph and Catherine (Hollaran) O'Mara.  Ed was the owner of O'Mara Foods in Greensburg.  He was a Veteran of the US Marine Corps.  He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He volunteered for many years for the Greensburg Youth Baseball and had served as president of the group for several years in the 70's. Ed was a proud member of the Democratic Party.  He was married to Londa Osborn on June 28, 1957 and she survives.  He is also survived by three sons, Rev. Michael O'Mara, Indianapolis, Gregory O'Mara and his partner, Joey Tabangy, Columbus, OH, Thomas (Paula) O'Mara, Greensburg; two daughters, Kim (Mark) Hahn, Greensburg, Julie (Paul) Webster, Greensburg; seven grandchildren, Brock (Jenny) Hahn, Monique O'Mara, David Hahn, Blake (Amy) O'Mara, Toni (Brian) Kellems, Samantha O'Mara, Robert (Kattie) O'Mara; eight great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Anthony S. O'Mara; one brother, John J. O'Mara; one sister, Teresa O'Mara.  A prayer service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the St. Mary's Catholic Church followed by visitation until 7:00 p.m.  A funeral mass will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 2015 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greensburg with Rev. Michael O'Mara officiating.  Interment will be held in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Greensburg, Indiana on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the St. Mary's Church Building Fund or the Hansen Center in Batesville.
