Roy D. Griffin, 78, passed away Friday, July 17, 2015 at Arbor Grove Village in Greensburg. Roy was born in Roanoke, Virginia on August 22, 1936 to Harrison and Flossie Jane (Blevins) Griffin. Roy worked for Dresser Industries in Connersville and he also worked for Harry Applegate’s Feed mill in Brookville. He was a member of the New Point Baptist Church. Roy was a veteran of the United States Army. He was married to Ada Davidson on September 2, 1961 and she survives. Roy is also survived by one son; David (Amanda) Griffin, Greensburg, Sonia (Mike) Shell, Rushville, three grandchildren; Joshua (Tiff) Shell, Amanda Shell, and Heather Griffin, three step-grandchildren; Chris Murray, Charlie Murray, and Samantha Murray, one great grandson; Camdon Scott Shell, and one step-great grandson; Daniel Jimenez-Murray. He was preceded in death by his parents, 11 brothers and sisters, and one granddaughter; Ciara Griffin. Visitation will be from 11 am - 1 pm on Tuesday at New Point Baptist Church in New Point followed by funeral services at 1 pm with Pastor Rodney Anderson officiating. Interment and military graveside rites will follow at Rossburg Cemetery in New Point. Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society, the American Lung Association, or the Salvation Army.
