Patricia Ann Young

Patricia Ann “Pat” Young, 64, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2105 in Greenwood, Indiana.  Born, April 3, 1951 in Batesville, she was the daughter of Robert W. and Mary V. (Ford) Young.  Pat began working for Indiana Bell, which became Verizon, in Greensburg after graduating from Greensburg High School, and worked there for 30 years before retiring.  Pat loved to crochet and she made lap blankets that she donated to local veterans.  Pat loved animals and had several dogs over the years.  She was also a member of the U.S.S. Indianapolis Star Trek Club in Greenwood.  Pat is survived by her sister; Sarah (Young) Mattingly, Indianapolis, her niece; Carmen Brooks, Indianapolis, and her children; Brandyn Riddle and Breonna Anderson, her nephew, Christopher Brooks, St. Cloud, FL, and his children; Sabrina and Nicholas Brooks, four great-great nieces and nephews; Brennen, Ellie, Nikko, and Bryce, and her lifelong friend; Barbara Wapole.  She was preceded in death by her parents.  A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1-2:30 pm on Friday, August 21 at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home.  A Rosary Service will start at 2:30 pm Friday followed by funeral services at 3 pm with Rev. John Meyer officiating.  Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 129 in Greensburg.
