Florence Reed

Florence (Lunsford) Reed, 78, Milford, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at the St. Francis Heart Center in Indianapolis. Born December 29, 1936 in Manchester, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Thomas and Myrtle (Rice) Lunsford. She married Rev. Leroy Reed on April 25, 1958 and he survives. Together Leroy and Florence founded the Freewill Baptist Church in Milford, Indiana. She had also worked for over 30 years at the Heritage House Nursing Home in Greensburg and for 10 years at the Columbus Health Center. She is also survived by three sons, Tommy Lee (Julie) Reed, Flat Rock, Hughie Edwin (Melissa) Reed, Milford, David Dwight (Theresa) Reed, Milford; one brother, Don Lunsford, Manchester, Kentucky; one son-in-law, Jack McCorkhill, Milford; 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Fannie Marie McCorkhill; one son, Plez Reed; four brothers, Virgil, James, Bill, and Arnold Lunsford; one sister, Ollie Mae Jackson. Visitation will be from 5-8:00 p.m. Monday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg and from 10-11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Free Will Baptist Church in Milford. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at the church with Rev. Glenn Pointer and Rev. David Douglas officiating. Interment will be held in the Milford Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Milford Freewill Baptist Church.
