Ray Cooper, Jr., 84, Greensburg, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at his residence.
Born, March 2, 1931 in Rugby, Indiana, he was the son of Melvin Ray "Friday" and Margaret (Barmes) Cooper.
Ray worked first at Arvin Industries in Columbus, then for 25 years as a milk deliveryman for Meadow Gold. He then worked as a mechanic for Cars and Campers. After that Ray started his own mechanic shop called C & A. He later worked for the Greensburg Water Company.
He was married to Leona L. Pringle on December 30, 1950 and she preceded him in death on August 29, 1989.
He is survived by three sons, Gary L. (Vickie L.) Cooper, Ninnekah, Oklahoma, Richard R. (Dawn) Cooper, Greensburg, Steven G. Cooper, Greensburg; one daughter, Angela J. (David) Sallee, Greensburg; one brother, Paul Edwin (Judy) Cooper, Greensburg; 10 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; one brother, Marvin Cooper; one sister, Martha Ann Johnson.
Visitation will be from 4-8:00 p.m. Friday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the funeral home with Rev. Mark Vice officiating.
Interment will be held in the South Park Cemetery in Greensburg, Indiana.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Southeastern Indiana.
