Olivia J. Froehling

Olivia J. Froehling, 92, passed away September 20, 2015 at Morning Breeze Nursing Home in Greensburg.  She was born April 15, 1923 in Waldron to Albert and Theresia (Ferkinoff) Weintraut.  Olivia graduated from High School and then attended the University of Cincinnati.  She was married to Adolphe F. Froehling on December 1, 1945 at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church and he preceded her in death on April 29, 1980.  Olivia was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the St. Lawrence Auxiliary, and the Linger-A-While Home-Ec Club, all in Greensburg.  Olivia volunteered at Decatur County Memorial Hospital. She also loved to sew and cook. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially traveling and babysitting her grandchildren.  Olivia is survived by her son; Richard (Helen) Froehling, two daughters; Theresa (James) Stapp, Kathy (John) Grimes, two brothers; Omer (Carolyn) Weintraut, Mark (Mary Lee) Weintraut, sister; Dorine Wolsiefer, sister-in-law; Fern Weintraut, 10 grandchildren; Timothy (Angie) Stapp, Christopher (Carrie) Stapp, Craig (Mandy) Stapp, Jamie (Casey) Stapp, Michael (Sarah) Stapp, Lisa (Ray) Wilson, Kevin (Brandi) Froehling, John (Amber) Grimes, Scott (Amy) Grimes, Laura Grimes, and 19 great grandchildren; Trevor, Meghan, and Sarah Stapp, Blaine, Caleb, Mason, and Caroline Stapp, Mitch Stapp, Wyatt and Rece Stapp, Olivia and Lincoln Stapp, Addilyn, Taytum, and Kenzi Froehling, and Lily, Olivia, Max, and Ella Grimes.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother; George Weintraut, and three sisters; Beatrice Maier, Cleopha Brandes, and Kathryn Weintraut.  Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home with a rosary service starting at 3:30pm.  A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, September 24 at 9:00 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. John Meyer officiating.  Interment will follow at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Cemetery in Shelby County.  Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary’s Church Building Fund.
