Mary M. Vanderpohl, 91, Greensburg, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at the Our Hospice Inpatient Facility in Columbus. Born December 18, 1923 in Harrison, Ohio, she was the daughter of Elmer and Elizabeth (Hoerst) Roell. She worked at the Cabin Club in Greensburg, then was the kitchen manager for five years at North Lincoln Village. She then worked at Stones Restaurant in Millhousen. Mary was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Knights of St. John Ladies Auxiliary, and the Millhousen Fire Department Auxiliary. She was married to Irvin J. Vanderpohl on August 10, 1946 in Harrison, Ohio and he preceded her in death on September 8, 2003. She is survived by three sons, Irvin (Shirley) Vanderpohl, Jr, Seymour, Thomas (Bernice) Vanderpohl, Laurel, Paul (Nancy) Vanderpohl, Greensburg; four daughters, Rita (Doug) Cox, Napoleon, Theresa Koester, Columbus, Bernice (Charles) Cook, New Point, Kate (Fred) Fry, Greensburg; two sisters, Ruth Huguenard, Batesville, Sr. Bernice Roell OSF; 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; five brothers, Jerome Roell, Earl Roell, Leo Roell, Robert Roell, Lawrence Roell; two sisters, Loretta Blankman, Hilda Roell. Family and friends will gather at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home to pray the rosary. Visitation will follow the rosary until 4:00 p.m. at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. Visitation will also be held on Monday from 9-10:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Millhousen Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 16, 2015 at the church with Rev. Bill Turner officiating. Interment will be held in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the Sisters of St. Francis.
