Doris R. Vanderbur

Doris R. Vanderbur, 92, Greensburg, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at her residence in Greensburg. Born August 7, 1923 in Valparaiso, Indiana, she was the daughter of John and Minnie Ava (Campbell) Bickel. She was the trust officer at Decatur County Bank for many years. She was a member of the Greensburg United Methodist Church, DAR, Tree County Players, and was a former member of the Psi Iota Xi and Decatur County Historical Society. She was married to Earl W. Vanderbur on December 17, 1955 in West Lafayette, Indiana and he preceded her in death on December 25, 2008. She is survived by one sister, Betty Gauck, Greensburg; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, great great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; three sisters, Vera Alexander, Ruth Phillips, Leola McMurtry; two brothers, John and Walter Bickel. A private funeral service was held at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home with Dr. P.T. Wilson officiating. Interment followed at the South Park Cemetery in Greensburg. Memorials may be made to "Our Hospice of South Central Indiana" or to the "Greensburg Meals on Wheels".
