Stephen L. Davis, 68, passed away on Wednesday, November 25 at Morning Breeze Nursing Home in Greensburg. Born on July 29, 1947 in Shelbyville, Stephen was the son of John and Gladys (Thorpe) Davis. Stephen graduated from Burney High School, and then graduated from Murray State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture and a Master’s Degree in Education. Stephen worked on the family farm, he was a teacher for 4 years, he drove a semi from 1983-2000, he worked at Delta Faucet from 2000-2008, and he had currently been running a box truck for Eltek in Batesville. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the Masonic Lodge all in Greensburg. Stephen was an avid boater, camper and water skier. He was married to Kathie Menne on December 27, 1982 and she survives. Stephen is survived by his parents; John and Gladys Davis, Greensburg, his wife; Kathie Davis, Greensburg, 6 children; Jenny (Dan) Smith, Greensburg, Daniel (Philann) Davis, Rushville, Kevin (Heather) Buhr, Austin, IN, Ben (Erin) Davis, Milroy, Jeff (Neeley) Buhr, Lexington, KY, Tim (Jamie) Davis, Chicago, one brother; Gary (Deb) Davis, St. Paul, IN, two sisters; Joyce (Bill) Crane, Milroy, Cheryl (Kenny) Bass, Shelbyville, and 16 grandchildren. A rosary service will be held on Friday at 3:30 pm with visitation to follow from 4-8 at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Greensburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the St. Mary’s Church Building Fund.
