Carl F. Wenning, 83, Indianapolis, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2016 at the Richard Roudebush Veterans Medical Center in Indianapolis.
Born, August 14, 1932 in Greensburg, Indiana, he was the son of Herman J. and Margaret (Haunert) Wenning.
Carl graduated in 1951 from Greensburg High School and then served in the Army during the Korean War.
He had worked for Climax Mining in Colorado.
He was a member of the American Legion in Indianapolis.
He was married to Marilyn (Mickey) Rosenbaum on September 13, 1974 and she survives.
He is also survived by two sons, Roger David (Ruth) Wenning, Greensburg, Daniel (Susan) Wenning, Gallup, NM; two daughters, Karla Wenning, Greensburg, Suzie (Ted) Trujillo, Evergreen, CO; one sister, Rosemary Ann (Anthony) Scheidler, Millhousen; nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Dolores E. Schoettmer, Lucille Wallpe.
Family and friends will gather at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home to pray the rosary. Visitation will follow the rosary until 12:45 p.m. at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greensburg with Rev. John Meyer officiating.
Interment will be held in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
