Michael W. Ricke

Michael W. Ricke, 54, Bloomington, died on Friday, March 18, 2016 at his residence. Born, August 29, 1961 in Greensburg, Indiana, he was the son of Gilbert L. and Linda L. (O'Brien) Ricke. Mike graduated from Greensburg High School in 1980. He then attended Ball State University. Mike did community volunteer work in the Bloomington area. He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church. Mike enjoyed spending time with his family, especially time with his nieces and nephews. He enjoyed a variety of music, following politics, and he had a great sense of humor. He is survived by his parents; three sisters, Kim and Dr. Michael Kastner, Sylvania, OH, and their children, Kevin, Ryan and Derek Kastner, Sandy and Chris Welage, Greensburg, and their children, Sara & Cory Fischer, Laura and Claire Welage, Anita and John D. Moeller, Greensburg and their children, Kyle, Kasey, and Aaron Moeller. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Jessie (Horner) O'Brien and Edward and Louise (Meyer) Ricke. Family and friends will gather at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home to pray the rosary. Visitation will follow the rosary until 8:00 p.m. at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greensburg with Rev. John Meyer officiating. Interment will be held in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) or to the St. Mary's Church Building Fund.
