Rita J. Sallee

Rita J. Sallee, 49, Westport, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2009 at Decatur County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg. Born June 8, 1959 in Greensburg, Indiana, she was the daughter of Harold E. and Rose C. (Dwenger) Powers.  Rita had worked for several years as a home care nurse’s aide and she also had worked at GECOM and at the Subway.  She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg.  She was married to Donald R. Sallee on June 5, 1999 and he survives.  Rita is also survived by two sons, David (Nona) Powers, Westport, Harold A. Powers, Greensburg; three daughters, Kathi Jo Sallee, Seymour, Katrina D. Powers, Westport, Pamela (Greg) Taylor, Milford; six brothers, Harold “Tony” (Norita) Powers, St. Paul, Donald (Dawn) Powers, Indianapolis, Ray Powers, Greensburg, Art (Christine) Powers, Sandusky, Andy (Dawn) Powers, Greensburg, Jacob (Vicki) Powers, Greensburg; three sisters, Mary (John) Brogan, Greensburg, Angela Miller, Greensburg, Dot Perkins, Greensburg; nine grandchildren, Tyler Fields, Nick Olmstead, Julliana Burton, Jazmine Powers, Kali Thompson, Blake Thompson, Gregory Taylor, Jr., Dawson Powers and Natasha Powers. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Mabel “Kay” Yorn and Susan Wilmer. Visitation will be from 4-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg.   A public rosary will be prayed at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg with Msgr. Harold Knueven officiating.
