Nicholas K. “Nick” Williams, 66, Greensburg, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at his residence in Greensburg.
Born, February 22, 1943 in Greensburg, Indiana, he was the son of Lowell G. and Berthel F. “Bert” (Fields) Williams.
Nick spent nearly 40 years in the incentive travel industry operating group travel marketing programs for Fortune 500 companies to well over 100 countries. He has received hundreds of letters of merit from company executives. He was also presented “The Duke of Paducah” Award, and “Kentucky Colonel” awarded by the Governor of Kentucky for operation of successful trade missions to foreign lands for the state.
He graduated from Greensburg High School in 1961. He was an alumnus of Indiana University, the Singing Hoosiers, and a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity, the United Methodist Church, and various trade associations.
He is survived by one son, Kent (Tisha) Williams, Naples, Florida; one sister, Cynthia (David) McHenry, Greensburg; two grandchildren, Erika and Alexander, both of Florida; two nephews, Jason (Lindy) McHenry, Bloomington, David McHenry, Bloomington; two Aunts, Zella Owen, Milroy, Florence Williams, Indianapolis; one great nephew, Ethan McHenry; one great niece, Taylor McHenry; several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 4-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 17, 2009 at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg with Rev. Tony Alstott officiating.
Interment will be held in the South Park Cemetery in Greensburg.
Memorials may be made to the Decatur County Historical Society or to the Riley Children’s Hospital.
