Helen M. Corya, 92, Greensburg, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2009 at her residence.
Born, October 22, 1916 in Decatur Co., Indiana, she was the daughter of Henry and Bernadette (Runnebohm) Stockhuetter.
She graduated from Greensburg High School. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg, and the Rural Couples Club. She was a 4-H leader, and she worked in the St. Mary’s School library.
Se was married to P. Irven Corya on August 30, 1944 and he preceded her in death on April 28, 1991.
She is survived by three daughters; Marihelen (Edward) Hubbard, Columbus, In., Teresa (Jay) Hatton, Greensburg, Barbara (Rex) Alexander, West Chester, OH., two sisters; Margaret Corya, Greensburg, Rosemary Oakley, Indianapolis, two grandchildren; Nick Hazlett, and Christine Thomas, and one great granddaughter; Gabrielle Thomas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one sister; Katherine Boehle.
Visitation will be from 3-7:00 p.m. Monday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. A rosary will be prayed prior to visitation on Monday at 2:30.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg with Msgr. Harold Knueven officiating.
Interment will be held in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
