Sara Elaine Hankins

Sara Elaine Hankins, 65, Columbus, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at the Columbus Regional Hospital. Born October 23, 1950 in Greensburg, she was the daughter of James Thomas and Lorraine M. (Hood) Spillman. Sara graduated from Franklin College and taught for 40 years. She retired from the North Decatur Elementary School. She was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Hope. She is survived by two sons, James (Jodi) Hankins, Hope, Paul (Lesa) Hankins, Columbus; one daughter, Elaine (Adam) Breeck, Vevay; seven grandchildren, Haley Cook, Logan Hankins, Tyler (Cindy) Daugherty, Alyssa Daugherty, Blake Daugherty, Cody Larrison, Hunter Larrison. She was preceded in death by her parents , one sister, Sue Ellen Magargel; one grandchild, Alexander Hankins. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 7:00 p.m. at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at the funeral home with Rev. Dan Barringer officiating. Interment will be held in the Shiloh Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of South Central Indiana.
