Donald R. Hurt, 80, of Greensburg passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Heritage House Nursing Home in Greensburg. Don was born on April 9, 1936 in Greensburg, the son of Oscar and Mabel (Butler) Hurt. Don graduated from Greensburg High School in 1954. He served his country in the United States Army. Don was recently honored for being a veteran with a penning ceremony and was presented a plaque and pen. He was a member of the Greensburg United Methodist Church. He worked for Union Bank and Trust for a combined 38 years in Greensburg and he was a former branch manager in Westport. He was also on the Sheriff’s Department for 15 years. Don was a member of the American Legion Post 129 and the Eagles Lodge 927 in Greensburg. Don was a baseball and IndyCar fan and he was an avid photographer. Don married Paulene Striecker Feldman on April 2, 2011 and she survives. He is also survived by one brother; Robert Hurt, Greensburg, mother-in-law; Mary Striecker, Greensburg, three step-children; Richard B. Feldman, Ronald J. (Patty) Feldman, Debra A. (Ross) Bergman, 7 step grandchildren, 5 step great grandchildren, 3 step great-great grandchildren, 1 brother-in-law, 3 sisters-in-law, and special friends; Roger and Ruth Wenning and children, and Karla Wenning and children. Don was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 pm on Friday and from 8 to 10 am on Saturday at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 6 at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home with Pastor P.T. Wilson officiating. Burial and military graveside rites will follow at South Park. Memorials can be made to Our Hospice or Greensburg United Methodist Church.
