Billy Jim Dilkes

Billy Jim Dilkes, 90, Greensburg, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at the Decatur County Hospital in Greensburg. Born January 5, 1926 in Greensburg, Indiana, he was the son of Ora E. and Oral Opal (Clingenpeel) Dilkes.  He served in WW II as a corporal in the Army.   He worked for John Black Construction until his retirement.  He was married to Bertha "Bert" Hessler on January 11, 1947 and she survives. He is also survived by one son, Billy Jim Dilkes, Jr.; two daughters, Jo Ann (John) Marlow and Cathy Herbert. He was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Leonard "Elmer" Dilkes, Bobby "Sam" Dilkes; one sister, Ora Marie Bussberg. There will be no services. Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg has been entrusted with the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the American Legion, Our Hospice, or the Decatur County Animal Shelter.
