Jack C. Haycock

March 31, 1924 — December 5, 2016

Jack C. Haycock, 92, Shelbyville, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2016 at the Ashford Place Health Campus in Shelbyville.  Born, March 31, 1924 in Hammond, Indiana, he was the son of Roscoe C. and Maida (King) Haycock.  Jack graduated from Ball State University and was a teacher for many years.  He was a veteran of WW II serving as a Sergeant in the Army.  He was a member of the American Legion Post #129, the Masonic Lodge, and he Clarksburg Christian Church.  He was married to Gloria Nation on June 9, 1948 and she survives.  He is also survived by one son, Jay (Sara) Haycock, Greenfield; one daughter, Pam (Jeff) Linder, Indianapolis; seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10 to 12:00 at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg.  Memorial Services will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at the funeral home with Rev. Jerran Jackson officiating.  Interment will be held in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery at a later date.  Memorials may be made to the "Our Hospice", the Clarksburg Christian Church, or to the Clarksburg Fire Department.
