Eunice M. Hess, 88, Greensburg, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at the Decatur County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg.
Born, August 10, 1920 in Anderson, Indiana, she was the daughter of James B. and Elnora B. (Swimley) Martin.
Eunice was a seamstress for several years at the Carol Cook Dress Factory and then she worked for 7 years at Moore’s True Value. She had lived in Williston, ND and Longview, WA. prior to moving to Greensburg. She was member of the First Church of God in Greensburg.
She was married to Edward Hess, Sr. on July 13, 1943 and he preceded her in death on March 9, 1985.
She is survived by one son, Russell E. Hess, Columbus; three daughters, Barbara Shutters, Indianapolis, Donna (Frank) Justus, Frankfort, Carol Tucker, Indianapolis; one step son, Ed (Sharon) Hess, Springdale, Ark.; one step daughter, Brenda (Richard) Cathcart, Indianapolis; 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; three brothers, Earl Martin, Gerald Martin, Russell Martin; one sister, Lois Martin; one great grandchild, Savannah Beasley.
Visitation will be from 4-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg with Rev. John Mattern officiating.
Interment will be held in the South Park Cemetery in Greensburg, Indiana.
Memorials may be made to the First Church of God.
