Dorothy M. “Dot” Ricke, 77, Greensburg, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2009 at her residence in Greensburg.
Born, September 13, 1931 in Decatur County, she was the daughter of Bernard C. and Alberta M. (Peters) Koors.
Dot worked for Johnson Wholesale prior to her marriage. She attended 8 years at St. Mary’s Catholic School, one year at the Oldenburg Academy and 3 years at Greensburg High School. She was a 50 year member of the Daughters of Isabella, a member of the Greensburg Country Club and a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
She was married to Willard A. Ricke on October 24, 1953 and he survives.
She is also survived by two sons, William B. (Lynn) Ricke, Washington, Thomas C. (Susan) Ricke, Greensburg; one daughter, Patricia A. (Michael) Hensley, Greensburg; eight grandchildren, Crystal (Eric) Stevens, Scott (Lindsay) Ricke, Andrea (Michael) Moore, Luke (Erin) Ricke, Brandon Hensley, Rebecca Hensley, Jessica Hensley, Christian Hensley; two great grandchildren, Toby Ricke and Asher Moore.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Charles Koors, Paul Koors; one grandchild, Patrick Joseph Hensley.
A public celebration of Dot’s life will be held on Wednesday from 4-8:00 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Greensburg. A public rosary will be prayed at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Knights of Columbus.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9-10:00 a.m. at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg with Msgr. Harold Knueven officiating.
Interment will be held in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Greensburg, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Decatur County Community Foundation for St. Mary’s School or to the Oldenburg Academy.
