John R. Pickett

John R. Pickett, 79, Greensburg, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the Aspen Place Health Campus in Greensburg. Born, March 8, 1937 in Milroy, Indiana, he was the son of William F. and Mary B. (Artmeier) Pickett.  John worked for the Delta Faucet Co. in the shipping and receiving department for 32 years until his retirement.  He served in the Army and was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church. He was married to Madeline Jackson on September 25, 1971 and she survives. He is also survived by one son, Dale Pickett, Greensburg; one daughter, Kathy Linville, Greensburg; one sister, Rosemary Roberts, Mississippi; two grandchildren, Steven and Ashley Linville, Greensburg; one step grandchild, Makayla Lowery, Greensburg; one great grandchild, Hayden Linville, Greensburg. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Richard Pickett; brother, William A. Pickett; Sister, Loretta C. Moore.  Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg.  Funeral Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at the funeral home with Rev. John Meyer officiating.  Interment will be held in the St. Mary's Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the "Our Hospice of South Central Indiana" or to the Alzheimer's Association.
