Teresa K. O'Mara

Teresa K. O’Mara, 69, Greensburg, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at her residence in Greensburg. Born, March 14, 1940 in Greensburg, she was the daughter of Joseph C. and Catherine M. (Holloran) O’Mara. Teresa graduated from Greensburg High School in 1958. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church. For more than 40 years, Teresa worked in both the public and private sectors. She worked for 30 years as a customer service representative at Farm Bureau and as a bookkeeper for the Kocher Ford Agency. She was the Decatur County Treasurer for eight years and the chairperson of the Decatur County Democratic Party for 14 years and also a delegate to the Democratic State Convention. She was a member of the Greensburg Working Women, Inc. She is survived by one brother, Edward (Londa) O’Mara, Greensburg; four nephews, Rev. Mike O’Mara, Greg O’Mara, Tom (Paula) O’Mara, Jeff (Tammy) O’Mara; two nieces, Kim (Mark) Hahn, Julie (Paul) Webster; several great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, John J. O’Mara; one nephew, Tony O’Mara. Visitation will be from 4-8:00 p.m. Friday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. A rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg with Rev. Michael E. O’Mara officiating. Interment will be held in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Greensburg, Indiana. Memorials may be made to SMAFA (St. Mary’s Alumni and Friends Association).
