Theresa E. Mauer

Theresa E. Mauer, 97, Greensburg, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2009 at the Morning Breeze Nursing Home in Greensburg. Born, January 9, 1912 in Decatur County, she was the daughter of August and Theresa (Puelsing) Kinker. Theresa was a cook at the Fireside Inn in Enochsburg. She was also a cook at the St. Mary’s School cafeteria for several years. She was married to Joseph J. Mauer on May 27, 1943 in Camp Livingston, Louisiana and he survives. She is also survived by two son, Don (Cindy) Mauer, Greensburg, Kenneth (Judy) Mauer, Greensburg; three grandchildren, Jeff Mauer, Todd Mauer, Chris Mauer; four great grandchildren, Rhett, Morgan, Grady and Brooklyn Mauer. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Joseph, Harry, Frank and Edward Kinker; two sisters, Mae Kinker and Henrietta Wolke. Visitation will be from 4-7:00 p.m. Monday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. A rosary will be prayed at 3:30 p.m. on Monday prior to the visitation at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg with Msgr. Harold Knueven officiating. Interment will be held in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Greensburg, Indiana. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Decatur County, 1201 N.
