Don R. Zapfe

Don R. Zapfe, 75, Greensburg, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at his residence in Greensburg. Born, December 30, 1933 in Decatur County, Indiana, he was the son of Gilbert H. “Buck” and Fern (Klausing) Zapfe. He had worked for the Vines Egg Co. until his retirement. Don was a veteran of the Navy serving during the Korean War. He is survived by two brothers, Robert L. (Diane) Zapfe, Greensburg, Michael (Gilda) Zapfe, Denver, Co.; one sister, Mary J. Swango, Greensburg; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Dale Zapfe; one nephew, Jason Swango. There will be no public visitation or funeral. Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg has been entrusted with the arrangements.
