Barbara D. Land

Barbara D. Land, 70, Greensburg, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Born, March 2, 1939 in Switzerland County, she was the daughter of Carl Henry Smith and Edith Opal (Warner) Clarkson. Barbara retired in August of 2001 from Elco Textron after 20 years of service. After one year she then went to work for Wal Mart. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, the Eagles Auxiliary, the VFW Auxiliary, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was married to Larry Land on May 21, 1994 and he survives. She is also survived by one son, Dean Alan Smith, Greensburg; one step son, Brian Land, Somerset, KY; one daughter, Patty Ann Yeager, North Vernon; one step daughter, Sheila M. Land, Lawrenceburg; one sister, Darlene Heeke, Aurora; 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Donald Ray Watts; two step brothers, Richard Clarkson, David Clarkson; one sister, Emily Davis. Visitation will be from 4-8:00 p.m. Friday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg and from 12-1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Greensburg. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Greensburg with Rev. Dennis Wenholz officiating.
